The
special area where
Museum
Hotel
is located consists of many cave and stone houses that are thousands
of years old. It is known that in the caves that belongs to Museum
Hotel and were restorated carefully, like in historical Uchisar
Castle, Hittites, Persians and Romans who were the first Christians
had lived. By the Seljuk Period, people had started to live in the
houses that were made from the yellow stones that were sculpted by
hand. Today we have converted the stone houses in the land of our
hotel into Reception, Taskosk Suite, Eflatun Suite, and Restaurant (Lil’a)
It is known that the people that had lived in the last period in the
area that Museum Hotel is now located were from the Tekeli Clan.
That is why the district is now called as Tekeli. Tekeli Clan is
also a famous Nomad Turkmen Clan who brings a renowned gender of
horse that is known as Akhal-Teke in Anatolia. It must be a
historical truth that Cappadocia, known as “the land of beautiful
horses” in those times, must be extremely welcoming for the people
of Tekeli.
These rare caves and stone houses that were once used for many
purposes like houses, stalls, depot and kitchen by the Hittite,
Persians, Romans, Seljuk and Ottomans, are now serve with the
quality and care of Museum Hotel as a result of a successful project.
